Dear Friends,

Since the summer, it has been a joy to gather in worship with you. We worshiped outside in the glorious sunshine during the summer before transitioning into the church after Labour Day. We were all full of hope as we anticipated entering phase 4 of the pandemic, which is the end of all restrictions, only for the Delta variant to bring a new wave of the pandemic. As more people in the province were vaccinated and cases declined in the Metro-Vancouver area, it appeared again we were nearing an end to the pandemic. Yet again, another variant, Omicron, appeared spreading rapidly, and cases have reached record numbers.

Because the Omicron variant is spreading rapidly among unvaccinated and vaccinated alike, and out of an abundance of caution, we are pausing our in-person until February 13th.

You may have a lot of different feelings about this, and I want to support you in them. Please reach out to me if you want to talk.

Please participate in our weekly online worship during this pause in in-person worship. The links will be available later in the week.

I am praying for you, and again please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have concerns or questions about this. Take care, be safe, and comfort one another. Remember who we are: a supportive, caring community that loves each other as Christ loved us.

May God bless you,

The Rev'd Ken Vinal
